Botswana Independence Day – 50th Golden Jubilee – Organiser and coordinator

Please see botswanauk.com/bot50 for details of the 5oth anniversary of Botswana Independence Day in East London on Saturday 1st October. The day before on the actual date of the 50th anniversary of Botswana Independence Day many Batswana including Botswana Community in the UK committee members joined in with a march to the Botswana High Commission organised by the TV program Black and British – A Forgotten History for the presentation of a plaque with the inscription:
“In 1895, chiefs Khama III, Sebele I & Bathoen I toured Britain to protect their homelands from colonisation. Their action led to the modern state of Botswana”.

The video below was taken on Saturday 1st October 2016 by Mr Gee Videos featuring my daughter Katrinah as presenter.  The first frame incorrectly shows the date as Saturday 3rd October 2015 – just a technical glitch!
